Butterfield is reinforcing its commitment to the environment with its latest initiative in partnership with Plastic Free communities in Jersey, Guernsey and Alderney, which educates primary school children in the Bailiwick about what it means to be an ocean advocate and how single use plastic is impacting the ocean.

‘Butterfield Junior Ocean Advocates’ will be a year-long initiative which launches this November and will be taught to primary school children in Years 1 – 4. Teachers will receive books to share with their pupils to learn about plastic pollution and the impact it has on marine animals and birds, as well as a Pollutoy to help them understand the issue. They will learn what simple steps they can take to reduce single-use plastic pollution and make a personal pledge to protect the ocean.

How do we get involved ?

Every primary school in the Channel Islands will gifted a Butterfield Junior Ocean Advocate kit early this year.

They will be distributed via Plastic Free Jersey, Plastic Free Guernsey & Plastic Free Alderney.
