Plastic Free Pop-Up!

Exciting news with the first ever PFG pop up shop! Taking place 17th – 22nd June at the OSA pop up shop, Smith Street.

Although you may have seen us previously at a number of local events, showcasing various products to help you live a life less wasteful, this time, for one week, you will not only be able to discuss your plastic free victories, and get a little advice on how to start your own plastic free journey, you will be able to peruse and purchase as you desire!

You may have spotted posts throughout the past few years in excitement of plastic free products that can be found locally, we think it is only right to celebrate these victories along with the efforts of local businesses to bring us these goodies! With this in mind, as well as a stock of items which are new to the Island scene, we have partnered with two local shops, Valpys and Iris & Dora to bring the plastic free items they stock to one place!

Great news if you want to make a repeat purchase in between events, or point friends and family towards products you can trust in the war on waste!

We have also joined forces with two fantastic local charities, both of which are close to our hearts. The first being Les Bourgs Hospice, in particular their 30bays in 30days event, you may have spotted their beach wombling alternative to swimming last year! This year it returns and throughout the week you will be able to sign up to 30bays in 30days, collect your entry goods and, at set times (12-2pm each day), come along and chat to the organiser to learn more about taking part, or share in a deep rooted love of Island life and sea swimming!

The second charity is Pick it up Guernsey, you may have spotted this one in the news of late following their incredible efforts over a two day period to collect 60,000 cigarette butts as a community, the target of 60,000 was exceeded with ease. A real wake up call to the astounding number of cigarette butts that are dropped on a daily basis. Pick it Up will have a stock of portable ashtrays at the shop known as ‘Le Poket’, these little cardboard wonders slip easily over your existing packet of cigarettes, providing you with a safe place to stash butts if you are caught without a bin nearby, they can be purchased for a steal at 25p each.

The shop will be open 10am – 4pm, Monday – Saturday, it will be manned by passionate volunteers for the week, feel free to pop in and see us for a browse, a chat, a moan, a shop, or a little inspiration. We hope to see you there.
